I never figured us for coffee snobs, but somewhere along the way I've come to expect good, strong, well flavored coffee. For a frame of reference, Starbucks' coffee is a touch strong, and so we only drink it occasionally, and Dunkin's has a burnt metal edge to it to me. Strong, but I don't like the flavor. We prefer Trader Joe's Colombian whole bean in the big can, and Costco's Kirkland Rwandan whole bean, these have a nice rich and full flavor to them, not bitter or acidic.
So that's what I'm using as a comparison.
This coffee to me is thin and bland. I don't notice the acid that another reviewer found, but perhaps my taste buds are off. It smells OK, but loses the effect after the first sip. We got a deal on a Simplehuman coffee pod machine and figured we'd give this a try instead of having a drip machine consuming energy keeping a carafe warm, and to make a quick cup'o joe to go in the mornings. I prefer Starbucks' VIA instant coffee's flavor and strength to Halo's.
That said, it makes a OK cup of coffee, and makes it quickly, but I'll try a different brand next time.

This is the worst excuse for coffee I've ever tasted. It even smelled strange when opening the package. I returned one 3 pack but could not return the other 3 pack I purchased. Can't understand why one is not eligible for return and one is. If you like coffee stay away from this brand.

High quality varieties of coffee from a company with a strong social conscience to boot? Sign this bleeding heart up! Sadly, as some reviews on other pods offered by this coffee have mentioned, the flavor doesn't quite stand up to the ethics, at least to my preferences.
This is strong acid coffee with a significant bitter taste and not wonderful aroma (the unbrewed pods did smell nice though). If you're the type that likes French or Italian roast, or are generally an espresso drinker, perhaps this will be a better fit for you (I prefer medium roasts in general).
Part of the issue may be that there seems to be more grinds packed into the pod than in other pods I've used - increasing the water volume to 8 oz/10 oz made the coffee more drinkable, but the strong bitter note and aroma remained.
I tried all three varieties in this pack before giving up - they all shared the bitter problem to roughly the same degree. I usually take my coffee with just a splash of 2% milk, but this coffee had me adding cream and sugar to mask the bitterness.
If you like your coffee feel-good and fortissimo, this might be a good variety pack to try. But for medium roasters like me, it seems a bit much.

Look closely at the "product specifications" blurb. This item is listed as a 6 pack, but contains only 3, and NO Kona Dark (WHICH IS THE REASON I BOUGHT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.) It contains one pack Columbian, and 2 packs of World Roast.
I have absolutely no issue with the coffee itself... it really is top-notch. But the description is so misleading, it bears this "buyer beware".
